Definition

An Honorary Fellowship "recognizes individuals for extraordinary, outstanding and meritorious
contributions to the sustainability sphere that are considered either a single contribution
of theory, design, or technique of outstanding significance or the accumulation of important
contributions of theory or practice over an extended time period, the total of which represent
an outstanding contribution."

Why does IGP recognize Honorary Fellows?

IGP's mission includes research and education.  In these roles, IGP seeks to recognize
pre-eminent individuals who exemplify academic and/or professional excellence, and
serve as examples of scholarship and leadership for the global sustainability community
and the public.

It is hoped that IGP's recognition of these individuals will:

1.     Assist in the dissemination of the important work of each Honorary Fellow;

2.     Motivate others to strive for exceptional scholarship and leadership achievement;

3.     Promote respect for the pursuits of education.
