The IGP General Comprehensive Examination exam and specialty exams are valid and reliable. Validity means that an exam is able to measure that which it is intended to measure. Content validity means that the content of the examination is job-related and it covers areas where lack of knowledge would result in inability to adequately perform the job. Reliability is the degree to which an exam accurately measures the potential Member’s ability levels and is a necessary condition to achieve exam validity.
IGP has developed the examination(s) for excellence and consistency put forth by ANSI/ISO/IEC 17024.ISO 17024 and the standard of evaluation for validity, credibility and ongoing improvement of professional credentialing programs.
