IGP EDUCATION
Upon successful completion of the General Comprehensive Examination you will be provided with a a Study Guide for your Specialty Course. Shortly thereafter, you will be emailed an invitation to take the specialty examination.
Although all members are encouraged to take all courses, for purposes of an IGP designation (MIGP, FIGP), the individual must complete a specialty course in the individual’s relevant specialty, as follows. These examples are not exhaustive, however, represent IGP's intent that at a minimum, an architect will take IGP's specialty course in architecture, an attorney will take IGP's specialty course in environmental law, and so on for each Member specialty. One of IGP's administrative tasks is to match the Applicant's resume/CV with stated area(s) of expertise and the minimum required specialty course.

State Certified General Appraisers or State Certified Residential Appraisers (or a real property appraiser in any other country other than U.S.A) must complete/pass, the course that is consistent with their type of state license and/or professional designation. For example, a State Certified General Appraiser or MAI will take the Real Estate Appraisal of Green Commercial Development course. When an individual holds a commercial and residential designation and/or certification, completion of the commercial course is required.
The one (1) exception to the above prerequisites to enrolling in a Specialty Course is when an individual has already successfully completed their one (1) relevant/required Specialty course and wishes to take another specialty course for continuing education or general interest.
